Marshfield and Columbus high schools form peer mentoring group

MARSHFIELD – On Feb. 9, more than 50 students from Marshfield and Columbus high schools gathered to build a peer lead action plan, consisting of substance abuse prevention, mental health, and anti-bullying initiatives.
The movement began in late 2017, when a proposal was developed to merge the Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth – Youth Initiatives and the Marshfield High School – Sources of Strength, and to be recognized as an official club at Marshfield High School and Columbus Catholic High School.
Students renamed the blended group the Marshfield and Columbus Leadership Alliance (MCLA). The 75-members of MCLA are planning activities to educate their peers.
