Jean A. Sazama, 86, Marshfield, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center, Owen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 am on Saturday until service time. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate. Interment will take place later in Hillside Cemetery Mausoleum, Marshfield.

Jean was born on February 5, 1932 on the family farm in the Town of Green Valley, Marathon County, to Frank and Helen (Wyman) Nikolay.

She was united in marriage to James J. “Bud” Sazama on September 10, 1952. He died on November 1, 2012.

Jean worked with Bud at Green Valley Cooperative in Rangeline from 1952 until 1974. She also was employed as a CNA at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, until her retirement.

Jean enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, daily walks, morning Mass, tending her flower garden, was an avid Packers fan and visitors enjoyed her apple pie. Jean was a tireless worker who put the needs of others before herself.

She is survived by her children Reed (Judy) Sazama, Renee (Jeff) Scheel, Sheila (Terry) Christensen, all of Marshfield and Ryan Sazama of Sheboygan. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren. Adrian (Megen) Sazama, Matt Scheel and Hatley Christensen. She is further survived by 3 sisters, Kathleen Reigel, Carol (Roger) Ress and Betty Worzella and 3 brothers, Pat (Patti) Nikolay, Jerry (Valerie) Nikolay and Bob (Nancy) Nikolay.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Frank Nikolay Jr.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical staff who cared for Jean for the past 2 years.
