Stratford girls, boys fall to G-E-T

GALE-ETTRICK-TREMPEALEAU – Both Stratford High School basketball teams suffered losses last week in Galesville, losing to Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau (G-E-T) in postseason play, in the program’s first year playing in Division 3.

On Feb. 26, the Stratford girls lost to G-E-T, 59-34, in a Division 3 WIAA regional championship game. Blaire Lindner led the Tigers with nine points, Kaylee Hollatz added eight, and Taya Nett and Chelsey Gliniecki each had six. The Red Hawks were led by outstanding junior, Lexi Wagner, with 19.

The Stratford boys lost a Division 3 regional semi-final game to G-E-T March 2 in Galesville, 66-59. The Tigers were led by Trent Heckel with 15. Ben Barten and Vaughn Breit each added 13. Stratford ended its season 19-5.
