Grace C. Pongratz, 88, Marshfield, entered eternal life on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Three Oaks Health Service, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 am until service time. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Auburndale and serving as pallbearers will be Greg Sebastian, David Sebastian, Donald Sebastian, Jared Sebastian, Gary Wilfahrt, and Kurt DeRuyter. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Grace was born on January 2, 1930 in Auburndale, to Frank and Olive (Hamus) Pongratz and attended St. Mary’s Parochial School, Auburndale. As a young lady she began working at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory, Marshfield for several years. After the death of her mother she assisted on the family farm and household duties.

She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women.

She is survived by 3 sisters, Ceil DeRuyter of West Bend, Marlene “Tunker” Steen of Tripoli and Alice (Zeke) Sebastian of Marshfield. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Florence Willfahrt, and brothers, Norbert, Arnold, James and Clarence Pongratz.

The family wishes to thank the Three Oaks staff, the doctors, nurses and Heartland Hospice staff for their wonderful care.
