Clifford J. “Ollie” Rogney, 83, Auburndale, passed away peacefully with family at his side, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Marshfield Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Alan Rogney, Nick Linzmeier, Mike Rogney, Jared Rogney, Kyle Willfahrt and Tyler Brandt and honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Kaleb Brandt, Dan Rogney, Aaron Linzmeier and Davey Greunke. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 am on Saturday until service time at St. Mary’s Church.

Clifford “Ollie” was born on May 29, 1934 in Marshfield, to Floyd and Rose (Bredl) Rogney. He attended St. Mary’s Parochial School, Auburndale and was a 1952 graduate of Auburndale High School. Ollie resided in Auburndale his entire life. He married the love of his life, Joyce Sue Bornbach on September 28, 1957. He purchased his dad’s dairy farm and farmed for 35 years, retiring in 1992. The Rogney’s then moved to the village of Auburndale.

As a young man, Ollie joined the United States Army serving from 1955 until 1957 with a stay of 15 months in France. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church his entire life, a member of the Auburndale Lions Club for 50 years and was awarded the Birch Sturm Award. He served on the Town of Auburndale Board and the Park Association. He was a member of the American Legion Post 54 and its honor guard for 34 years and he enjoyed being on the firing squad for most veterans funerals. His passion was following the St. Louis Cardinals, the Green Bay Packers, and his time in owl city, hunting and making wood.  He enjoyed many casino trips and was very lucky at times. Local sheepshead players attest that Ollie was a rather formidable opponent!

Ollie is survived by his wife Joyce, and their children, James (Donna Hilber) Rogney, Terry (Bonnie) Rogney, Dave (Vicki) Rogney, Sandy (Gary) Linzmeier, Judy Willfahrt and Diane Rogney. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, Mike, Kristin, Mike, Jake, Alan, Dan, Davey, Jodi, Jamie, Jared, Nick, Aaron, Kyle, Kari, Tyler, Kaleb, Paige and Shalee and 10 great grandchildren. He is further survived by 3 brothers, Roger (Pat) Rogney, Ron (Lois) Rogney and Cletus (Norma) Rogney and a sister-in-law, Helen Pankratz.

He was predeceased by his parents, a son Brian, a grandson, Joseph Brandt, a half-brother, Richard Pankratz and half-sisters, Loretta Ertl and Lucille Swensen.
