Dennis D. Bargander

Dennis D. Bargander, 66, Marshfield, died on Thursday, February 22, 2018 peacefully in front of the fireplace in the home he built.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Rembs Funeral Home, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday and from 10:00 am until service time on Tuesday. Rev. Art Scottberg, Pastor of Redeemer Christian Church will officiate.

Dennis was born on December 18, 1951 in Marshfield, to David and Erma (Karau) Bargander and was a graduate of Spencer High School. He was united in marriage to Mary J. Stoflet on April 7, 1973 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bakerville.

As a skilled carpenter, Dennis worked for a few local contractors until his entrepreneurial spirit kicked in he began his own business as a contractor and builder in 1979.  He built hundreds of homes in the Marshfield area and many commercial buildings.  He served on the Spencer State Bank board for many years and active in the Builders Association and served in a broad way.  Given the challenge he could accomplish it having his own personal touch in the community.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time in the woods and cutting wood and most of all tapping trees for maple syrup.

His greatest pride was his family and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, and their children, Amy (Jake) Sullivan of East Bethel, MN, Sara Bargander of Vadnais Heights, MN, and Matthew (Nicole) Bargander of Rib Mountain. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Ciara and Braden Sullivan. He is further survived by a sister, Shirley Bargander of Marshfield. Along with his labs Molly and Maggie and cat Snickers.  And many relatives.

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Judy Scheibe.

The family will designate a memorial in his name at a later date.
