Neillsville search warrant leads to bomb squad call

Couple arrested and children removed from home

Clark County Sheriff’s Office release

NEILLSVILLE – On Feb. 16, at about 8 a.m., the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Neillsville Police Department executed a search warrant at 111 E. First St. in the city of Neillsville. The search warrant was a result of an ongoing investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Police Department.

Upon searching the residence, the Marathon County Bomb Squad was notified to handle a hand grenade that was found. After the hand grenade was removed, the residence was search and officers discovered illegal drugs and paraphernalia.

Four children, ages 2, 9, 10 and 13, were removed from the residence by Clark County Social Services. Two dogs were also removed from the residence and taken to the Clark County Humane Society.

Two adults were arrested as a result of the investigation. Robert L. Bounds, 45, and his wife, Savanna F. Bounds, 32, were both referred to the District Attorney’s Office for possession of THC with intent to deliver, possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia in the presence of a child, possession of drug paraphernalia and child neglect. The Probation and Parole Office has also placed a hold on Robert.

Robert and Savanna are in the Clark County Jail awaiting their initial appearance in court.
