Duffy to see opponent in District 7 race

Marshfield man contends for spot

MARSHFIELD – Sean Duffy, representing Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, will see a challenger in the race for reelection this fall.
A former Marshfield physician and past president of Marshfield Clinic, Brian Ewert, Marshfield, has declared his democratic candidacy for the seat currently held by Duffy, Wausau.
Ewert is one of four Democrats who have already declared their candidacy for a spot against Duffy.
Kyle Frenette, a Chetek native and manager of the Eau Claire-based Indie-rock group Bon Iver, has announced that he will take a leave from his artist management firm to seek the position. Frenette has managed the group since its formation in 2007.
Ewert and Frenette join two others, Allen Campos, Sheldon, and Polk County Attorney Maragaret Engebretson in contention for a spot on the ticket.
The 7th Congressional District includes the counties of Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Clark, Douglas, Florence, Forest, Iron, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Oneida, Polk, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, St. Croix, Taylor, Vilas, and Washburn counties, along with portions of Chippewa, Jackson, Juneau, Monroe, and Wood.
