Marshfield Police Blotter: Jan. 9-15, 2018

January 8
Unlocked vehicle entered
A 59-year-old Marshfield man reported that while parked on West Upham Street at about 5 p.m., someone entered his unlocked vehicle and took a folding knife from the center cup holder. There are no suspects or leads.
Christmas card theft reported
A 27-year-old Marshfield man reported that a 29-year-old Marshfield female took $400 from a Christmas card that he received in the mail. Police contacted the female who stated that she had only taken $200, and later gave the money back to the man. The female denied having possession of any other money. The investigation will continue.
January 9
Second unlocked vehicle entered
A 30-year-old Marshfield woman reported that at approximately 5:30 p.m., an unlocked vehicle was entered while parked on South Spruce Street. A Garmin, toddler car seat, DVD player, and jumper boost pack were taken from the vehicle. There are no suspects at this time.
January 11
Drunken man hits a wall
A 33-year-old Marshfield man was arrested after hitting a house with his vehicle. The man reportedly stated that he was drunk when he accelerated very quickly, causing his vehicle to lose control. The man consented to a legal blood draw and was released to a responsible party. He was cited for OWI.
January 12
Car gets plowed
A 48-year-old Marshfield city employee reported that he had been operating a city street grader, when the edge of the blade caught the edge of a manhole cover. The cover became airborne and hit a parked car owned by a 27-year-old Marshfield man, causing minor damage.
Driver gets plowed and uses car
Officers observed a vehicle driving in an erratic manner, crossing the center line and hitting snow banks multiple times, while nearly causing more than one crash. Upon activating the emergency lights and siren, the vehicle did not stop, but eventually pulled into the parking lot of the Oak Avenue Community Center. The driver, a 75-year-old Marshfield man, allegedly admitted to consuming 5-6 alcoholic beverages. A PBT registered .151. The man subjected to a blood draw and was cited for OWI.
Woman has trouble in the workplace
A 27-year-old Marshfield woman reported that on Jan. 11 at about 8:30 p.m., she was verbally abused by a 25-year-old woman at her place of employment. She then received three text messages which she felt were threatening, as well as a snap chat. The 25-year-old denied any contact with the 27-year-old. Both women were advised to refrain from further contact with each other.
January 13
Harasser gets harassed
A 39-year-old Marshfield man reported that an unknown male had threatened him on Facebook. He believed the man who made the threats was associated with two of his female friends. Upon questioning, the females said that the 39-year-old had been harassing them. The 39-year-old agreed not to have any contact with the females or the unidentified Facebook man.
January 14
Woman hits pole
A 56-year-old Marshfield woman reported that she struck a pole in the parking lot of a Marshfield department store. Officers observed damage to the front quarter panel of the woman’s car, along with yellow paint transfer consistent with striking a pole.
January 15
Man assaulted in restaurant parking lot
A 33-year-old Marshfield man reported that he was punched in the face by an unknown man at about 8 p.m. in the parking lot of a Marshfield restaurant. Police will obtain video surveillance from the restaurant.
