MARSHFIELD – A person is now in custody following a bomb threat in Marshfield on Jan. 11. The Marshfield Police Department said that charges against the individual have not yet been determined, so the name has not been released. Officials say the person does know the homeowner, Ryan McGivern.
McGivern reported finding the device in his front yard shortly before 11 a.m. The scare closed off a portion of Lincoln Avenue, from McMillan Street to Shortess Drive, as the nearest bomb squad, Marathon County, was called in to address the situation.
The item turned out to be PVC piping filled with fireworks. Police say that this is an isolated incident and the community is not in any danger.
