Helen M. Peterson, 92, Arpin, died on Thursday, December 21, 2017.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hewitt. Burial will take place in Arpin Cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Helen was born at home on May 3,1925 to Charles and Hedwig Dominik in Draper, WI. During WWII, she worked at The Rauland Co. making military communication equipment. On October 5, 1946, she married Rolland E. Peterson in Hayward, WI. Together they raised 8 children, in addition to caring for 18 foster kids, of which 13 were infants. Helen became known as the”baby lady”.

She is survived by her children, Veronica (Charls Dixon) Peterson of Newport, OR; Mary (Steve) Flerchinger, of Pomeroy, WA; Michael (Joani) Peterson of Libby, MT; Robyn (Andy Bull) Peterson of Creswell, OR; Elizabeth (Bob Cook) Peterson of Clyde Park, MT; John (Laura) Peterson of Auburndale, and Joseph Peterson of Arpin. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Charles (Karen) Dominik of St. George, UT, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Rolland E. Peterson, her parents, a son, Mark and 4 siblings.
