An investigation is underway by the Marshfield Police Department involving the theft of jewelry from Bill Walker Jewelers, 148 S. Central Ave. A tray of nine rings, valued at $1000, was found missing after owner William Walker had polished a ring for a male customer.
50 years ago
The breaking of a piñata was the highlight of the Christmas fiesta held at Columbus High School for Spanish students and their guests. Chairman Liz Baltus, and a group of Spanish class students, spent hours pasting paper strips onto balloons to make the piñata resemble a mouse.
75 years ago
Those receiving caps for completing 80 hours of training, and certified as Volunteer Nurses Aides, are: Mrs. Lawrence Miller, Mrs. Blasius Wagner, Mrs. Aloys Reindl, Mrs. Wendelin Seidl, Mrs. Gordon Gladson, Mrs. L. A. Salter, Miss Marie Rhodes, Miss Lenore Anderson, and Miss Dolores Nuber.
