Columbus Catholic wins Cranberry title

Columbus Catholic rallied in both of its games at the Cranberry Classic at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, taking the title in the two-day tournament.
The Dons beat Assumption 47-45 in a semifinal on Nov. 24, and took care of Nekoosa 54-48 in the championship game Nov. 25.
Columbus trailed Assumption 24-19 at halftime before coming back to earn the victory. Marissa Immerfall scored with 2.6 seconds left to provide the winning margin. She finished with 14 points and Addison Baierl had 15 in the win.
Against Nekoosa, the Dons (3-1) were down 23-21 at intermission, but outscored the Papermakers by eight in the second half to win their third-straight game.
Morgan Albrecht had 18 points, making three 3-pointers and seven of nine free throws, to lead the Dons. Baierl added 14 points. Columbus made 19 of 25 free throws, while Nekoosa was just 10 of 23 at the line.
