November 21

Man turns himself in

At 4:18 p.m., a 39-year-old Marshfield man came into the Marshfield Police Department and turned himself in on an active warrant. He was booked and released after paying his bond.

November 22

Man jailed for probation violation

A 28-year-old Marshfield man was arrested for a probation violation after he was found in negligence of the rules. He was booked and transported to the Wood County Jail.

November 23

Drug activity report leads to gun possession charges

At 9:33 a.m., a Milwaukee man reported possible drug activity at a S. Chestnut Ave. home. Marshfield officers made contact with a 44-year-old Marshfield man and a 37-year-old Marshfield woman at the residence, along with an 18-year-old who was present at the time. After obtaining permission to search the residence, officers found drug paraphernalia and a short-barreled shotgun. The 18-year-old was taken into custody, booked, and released. Charges have been requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office for possession of the short-barreled shotgun.

A 40-year-old Marshfield female was taken into custody for a probation violation. She was booked and transported to the Wood County Jail.

November 24

Woman leaves valuables in shopping cart

A 62-year-old Marshfield woman reported that at 12:58 p.m. she forgot a yellow plastic shopping bag in a cart inside the entrance of a Marshfield store. The shopping bag contained a cashier’s check, cash, and a gold tin with a key ring inside. Upon returning to the cart, the bag was gone. No video was available. The cashier’s check was canceled. There are no suspects.

Hit and run driver is identified

At 3:42 p.m., a 61-year-old Marshfield man witnessed his parked vehicle being struck, causing damage to the rear bumper of his vehicle. The driver then exited the parking lot. A tenant at the location identified the driver of the vehicle. When police made contact with the individual, the 26-year-old Marshfield woman denied hitting the vehicle. Damage and paint transfer was found on her vehicle. The woman was issued a citation for hit and run.

November 25

Three individuals arrested for OWI

At 2:43 p.m., officers observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Central Ave. from Veterans Pkwy. with no rear lights. The driver weaved in and out of the parking lane several times before police initiated a traffic stop. The driver, a 24-year-old Auburndale man, was administered a preliminary breath test in which he registered a .20. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated, submitted to a blood draw, and was released to a sober adult.

At 3:32 a.m., officers noted a vehicle traveling toward them with no front license plate. Officers turned their vehicle around to verify that the car had a rear plate and noticed an inoperable stop lamp. Upon making contact with the driver, a 23-year-old Granton woman, officers noticed the smell of intoxicants. A preliminary breath test resulted in a .133 reading. She was placed under arrest for operating while intoxicated and submitted to a blood draw.

At 8:27 p.m., a vehicle was observed heading northbound on Cedar Ave, stopping in a lane of traffic for several seconds at the Eighth Street intersection. Officers activated the lights to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued to travel on Eighth Street, then Cherry Ave., and Ninth Street before pulling over. The driver, a 49-year-old Marshfield woman, appeared impaired. She performed poorly on the standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for operating while intoxicated – second offense. She submitted to a legal blood draw and was released to a sober adult.

A 51-year-old Marshfield woman was arrested during a traffic stop for operating while revoked due to an OWI. She was arrested, booked, and released with a mandatory court date.

Welfare check leads to husband-wife arrest

At 10:23 p.m., a Wausau woman requested a welfare check on a 29-year-old Spencer woman for suicidal comments made over the phone. Officers located the woman, who was intoxicated, and arrested her on multiple outstanding warrants and probation violations. The woman told officers that her 44-year-old husband was also at a tavern in violation of his probation. Officers arrested the man. Both were transported to Marathon County Jail and charges requested.

November 26

Woman causes disturbance

A Marshfield health center staff member reported that a 27-year-old Marshfield woman was refusing to leave, causing a disturbance while volatile and angry. When officers arrived, the woman admitted to causing a disturbance. She was transported to the Marshfield Police Department and booked, then taken to Wood County Jail. Charges are being requested through the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.

November 27

Marshfield church vandalized

At 11:39 a.m., the pastor of a Marshfield church reported that the church’s mail had been deliberately torn in half, two gutter downspouts had been crushed, and a side basement window and front basement window were damaged. The incident occurred sometime between Nov. 24 and Nov. 26. There are no suspects at this time.

Two Marshfield men taken into custody

A 28-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody for a valid Marshfield warrant, on Palmetto Ave. He was booked and transported to Wood County Jail, after he was not able to post bond.

At 7:59 p.m., a 52-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody on an active Marshfield warrant. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and released after posting bond.
