Step back in time: Nov. 19-25 in Hub City history

Ten years ago

All of the 310,000 lights at the Rotary Winter Wonderland in Wildwood Park & Zoo were lit Nov. 23 at 5 p.m. The mission of the Wonderland is to help feed the hungry of the Marshfield area with donations of nonperishable food to tour the Christmas sites at the park.

Twenty-five years ago

The Webster 4-H Club met at the Marshfield Research Station. Amy Danhof spoke on the American Spirit trip and Jodie Bymers gave a talk on whales as part of the agenda.

Fifty years ago

Elections were held by the Wood County 4-H Leaders Association, with four people chosen to serve terms on the council. Those four are Thomas Quinlan, Veedum Club; Mrs. Elmer Horn, Snyder Club; Russell Bruhn, Golden Glow 4-H; and Mrs. Peter Berdan, Auburndale Club.

Seventy-five years ago

The new armory will be the site of the Marshfield Central 4-H Club’s first social event of the winter season. Winifred Mercer, Patricia Nelson and Elaine Wood are: the chairs of the planning committee.
