Delores M. Petri

Delores M. Petri, 78, Auburndale, died on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Marshfield Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 16, 2016 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt, with Pastor Dean Pingel officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Larry Gleischner, Ron Gleischner, LeRoy Budtke, Jason A. and Jason R. Petri, Jaime Geldernick, Pamela Johnson, Connor Niles and Trinity Petri. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until service time on Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Delores was born on January 24, 1939 in Marshfield to Charles and Clara (Ress) Smazal. She attended country schools in the Fenwood area.

She was united in marriage to Clarence K. Petri on February 14, 1957 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Day, Marathon County. He died on September 8, 2007.

After her education she was employed as a waitress at Jimmy’s Café and after her marriage she and her husband farmed in the Town of Green Valley, Marathon County. Later she worked seasonally at Figi’s for many years and she also worked at Johnson Garment and in the deli at Festival Fods until her retirement.

Delores was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed camping and trips out west, sewing, crocheting, making quilts and her dogs.

She is survived by a son, Rodger (Kathy) Petri and a daughter, Shari (William) Niles, all of Auburndale and a daughter-in-law, Cindi Petri of Marshfield. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Jaime (Scott) Geldernick, Jason A. Petri, Jason R. (Tracy) Petri, Pamela (Shane) Johnson and Connor Niles and 5 great grandchildren, Trinity, Katie, Bella, Layla and Lincoln. She is further survived by 7 siblings and be her canine companion, Sassy.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a son, Glen and 10 siblings.
