MARSHFIELD — Carmen Duran’s artwork is inspired by flower gardens with whimsical flowers and vibrant colors dancing across each canvas.
The Stratford native is not new to the art world, but she is new at the Chestnut Center for the Arts, where Duran’s show opened Nov. 2 and will be on display through the month of November.
Duran returned to the creative world late in life with tracing subjects, which turned to drawing and sketching everything she could. When she began to explore mixed media, acrylics, and watercolors, the new techniques brought about a style in which Duran has found a niche.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Duran’s artwork will go to benefit Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery, a program that teaches children about cancer.
