MARSHFIELD — Resident Kodiak bears Munsey and Boda arrived at Marshfield’s Wildwood Park & Zoo in late October 2015. The cubs were 9 months old with Munsey just 120 pounds and Boda weighing in at 130 pounds.

The left photograph above was taken on Nov. 1, 2015, while Munsey was snacking on a pumpkin.

The photo on the right was captured Oct. 19, 2017, while the bears were once again treated with a pumpkin. Here Munsey has grown to 620 pounds, and Boda is a hefty 720 pounds.

Munsey was recently separated from Boda after undergoing surgery. Susan Wendlandt said an interesting fact about their reunion is, “Since Munsey’s recovery with his digestive problem, Boda has demonstrated a greater ability to share his snacks with Munsey. Boda has growled or made any type of aggressive behavior over sharing his pumpkin snack. It is interesting to observe the growing bond between the Kodiak cubs.”
