Ten years ago

Erica Sherman won a 2007 14-Carat Gold Award, announced from the Wood County Health Department. Sherman was given her award at a Board of Health meeting. The award recognizes one’s efforts to promote increased vegetable and fruit consumption.

Twenty-five years ago

Holding their 20th annual meeting Wednesday at the Knights of Columbus Hall were members of the Wildwood Park Zoological Society. Honored at the meeting were original charter members Arlan Ferch, Clem Beining, Jack Lehnherr, Eleanor Crawford-Uehling, Marge Schneider, Priscilla Ferch, and original zoo supervisor Marcellus “Spitz” Jirschele.

Fifty years ago

The 38th annual meeting of the Pure Milk Products Cooperative was to be held in Fond du Lac with more than 1,000 people expected to attend. Marshfield delegates to attend were Francis L. Cherney, Donald Bartsch, Reuben Merkel, and Norbert Kohlbeck.

Seventy-five years ago

The Experiment Station was the site for a field trip taken recently by a group of biology students of Marshfield High School. On the trip were students Virginia Grosbier, June Beseler, L. Jean Beseler, Beverly Olm, Keith Becker, and Edith Dorst.
