Marie C. Kelly, 87, Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Bethel Center in Arpin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am on Tuesday until service time. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Marie was born on May 9, 1930 in Bakerville to Peter and Mary (Eckes) Bell. She was the 2nd youngest of 8 children and would often reminisce about growing up on the farm. She attended Corpus Christi Grade School and went on to work as a caring Nursing Assistant for 34 years at St. Joseph’s Hospital. On October 2, 1948 she married Robert Kelly and together they had 8 children.

Marie was loved and respected by her friends and family for her caring and kindhearted ways, her dedication to her faith, and her strength during life’s challenging moments. She loved attending Mass and was a lifelong member of St. John’s. She enjoyed cooking and baking, playing cards, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Patty (Rod) Seehafer, Barb (Larry) Seehafer, Ron (Deanna) Kelly, Darla (Tom) Egger, Karen (Jay) Johnson, Deb (Tom) Schams and Mary Kelly. Her life was further blessed with 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Violet (Jim) Meyer and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mary Bell, her husband Robert, her son Raymond, sisters, Esther Chase, Margaret Gust, Agnes Frankwick and Delores Spindler, brothers, Harold and Andrew Bell, sisters-in-law, Maggie Bell, and Ruthie Bell, and brothers-in-law, Norbert Spindler, Jake Gust, Claude Frankwick and Orville Chase.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bethel Center for their compassionate care of their mom.

Marie’s wish was for memorials to be given to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Marshfield.
