Marshfield Middle School girls swim team fourth at conference meet

Tigers’ 200 medley relay team wins title

WAUSAU — The Marshfield Middle School girls swim team finished fourth at the 10-team Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet at Horace Mann Middle School on Oct. 7.

Marshfield totaled 136 points, 37 behind Horace Mann. D.C. Everest won the team title with 273 points, only three ahead of Stevens Point.

Marshfield’s 200-yard medley relay team of Faith Risa, Tara Kracht, Courtney Donahue, and Mya Bohman won the event in 2:06.62 for the Tigers’ lone victory.

Marshfield had a number of other top-10 finishes. Donahue was second in the 50 butterfly (30.07) and seventh in the 100 individual medley (1:12.82), Kracht took third in the 200 freestyle (2:14.63) and seventh in the 50 breaststroke (36.45), Risa was fourth in the 50 butterfly (31.23) and fifth in the 100 individual medley (1:11.07), and Bohman took seventh in the 100 freestyle (1:04.38).

Risa, Bohman, Donahue, and Kracht also finished fourth in the 400 freestyle relay in 4:14.44.

50 freestyle: 1. Claire Tesch (DC) 26.63; 6. Bohman (MAR) 28.68; 25. Meyer (MAR) 34.77; 35. Keely Gorst (MAR 42.62; 36. Olivia Hansen (MAR) 55.98.
