Marshfield girls swimming drops home meet to Wisconsin Rapids

Alberts wins 100 butterfly, Franks wins 500 freestyle for Tigers

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Marshfield won two events in a 119-51 loss to Wisconsin Rapids in a Wisconsin Valley Conference girls swimming dual meet Monday at Marshfield High School.

Kaitlin Alberts won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:09.31, and Alyssa Franks took first place in the 500 freestyle in 5:51.49 for the Tigers’ two victories.

Alberts was also second in the 200 individual medley (2:33.61), and the Tigers’ 200 freestyle relay team of Sophie Koehn, Erika Roeglin, Hope Risa, and Alberts was second in 1:56.14.

Marshfield’s (1-4) final home meet of the season Thursday against Wausau West begins at 5 p.m.
