MARSHFIELD — On Oct. 27-28, the Piecemakers Quilt Guild of Central Wisconsin will present the 2017 Treasures of Tomorrow Quilt Show at East Gate Alliance Church, 2203 E. Becker Road in Marshfield. This 28th annual event will take place from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day. Admission is $5.

Articles on display will include more than 150 quilts of various sizes, wall quilts, garments, and home accessories.

Judging by National Quilting Association-certified quilt judge Carol Butzke will take place prior to the event. Cash awards totaling $3,000 will be given to Best of Show, Best Hand Quilting, Best Machine Quilting, plus three placements in each of 13 categories: bed quilts — pieced, appliquéd, and mixed techniques; wall quilts — pieced, appliquéd, and mixed techniques; art quilts; small quilts; garments and home accessories; and youth quilts, made by youth 18 and under. Additional ribbons include two Viewer’s Choice awards, Mayor’s Choice, Pastor’s Choice, Guild-President’s Choice, Quilter of the Year Choice, Quilt Show Chairmen Choice, and 11 honorable mentions.

Show attendees may shop at vendor booths, take various classes ($12 with kits included), participate in next year’s Fabric Challenge, and purchase food and refreshments. There will be door prizes each day as well as a raffle drawing on Saturday at 2 p.m. for a 102-by-112-inch bed quilt, entitled “Sand and Sea,” made by members of the Piecemakers and quilted by Pat Hammeke.

More information — including the list of classes, entry form, competition rules, and list of vendors — can be found at piecemakers.org, by emailing marshfieldquiltshow@gmail.com, or by calling Sylvia at 715-387-3923 or Jackie at 715-387-4166.
