Six different Dons score in road win

By Paul Lecker

Sports Reporter

WAUSAU — Six different Marshfield Columbus Catholic players scored as the Dons cruised past Wausau Newman Catholic 7-1 in a Central Wisconsin Conference soccer game Thursday.

Dylan Porter and Calvin Brown scored in the opening 10 minutes, and Nadim Torbey added a pair of goals prior to halftime to give the Dons (14-4-1, 11-1 CWC) a 4-0 lead.

Matt Olson, Noah Hansen, and Sydney Mauritz added goals in the second half for Columbus.

The Dons play at Tri-County on Monday and host Amherst/Iola-Scandinavia/Rosholt on Oct. 13 to finish their regular-season schedule. With wins in both games, Columbus would win the Central Wisconsin Conference championship.
