MARSHFIELD — Jennifer Sobotta, Forward Financial Bank marketing director, said that work is going well on the bank building being constructed near the intersection of Central Avenue and Ives Street.

“The new headquarters of Forward Financial Bank is quite visibly getting closer to the target completion date of March 2018,” Sobotta said. “The community can begin to see how the final project will look with the installation of windows, addition of stone and brick to the exterior, and the preparations in place for pavement and landscaping.

“The interior work is as impressive as what is seen outside. Offices are taking shape with drywall going up every day. Our local contractors are doing a great job in keeping this project on schedule.

“Some in the community continue to question whether Forward will be occupying all floors. The Forward team will be occupying the lower level, first floor, and half of the third floor. Two tenants have signed leases already, and more space is available for rent.”

Forward Financial broke ground on the project Sept. 8, 2016.

Colby Community Library

Work on the Colby Community Library is a little behind schedule, but facilities should be functional for upcoming programming said Colby Public Library Director Vicky Calmes.

“They have started the outside masonry,” said Calmes. “When that is done, they can get the siding on.  They have the inside sheet rocked and hope to start priming, texturing, and painting (by Sept. 23).

“Outside work is behind schedule due to rain the entire summer, but it is looking beautiful and will be so functional for a library and community programming events.”

Organizers broke ground on the project May 1 with completion scheduled for November 2017.
