COLBY — On Oct. 1 the 16th annual Community Care Walk will be held at the Colby High School track.

Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. at the school. Pledge forms and money need to be turned in before the walk begins at 1 p.m.

All money raised stays locally for the C.U.P. Food Pantry in Colby. The pantry serves families from Dorchester, Abbotsford, Colby, Unity, and Curtiss.

Fifty walkers participated in last year’s event, and more than $2,429 was raised for the food pantry.

Please note that no pets, strollers, wagons, or wheelchairs are permitted on the track surface. Water will be provided during the walk, and bars and cookies will be available at no charge afterward.

If health or prior commitments prevent someone from walking, walkers do need financial sponsors. There will be donation cans at the track as well.

Pledge sheets are available at Colby churches. Contact Cathy Johnson for more information at 715-223-4196.
