MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield girls golf team continued its hot finish to the 2017 season with a season-best score of 211 at the sixth leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Girls Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Marshfield Country Club.

The Tigers exceeded their previous season-best score, which was set Monday at Stevens Point, by nine shots.

Roma Shah also had a season-best round, shooting a 45 to place second overall for the Tigers. Shah moved into sixth place in the overall individual standings with one meet remaining in the tournament series Monday at Pine Valley Golf Course in Marathon.

Stevens Point wrapped up the conference title with a score of 182. The standings in all six conference meets have been exactly the same with Point finishing first, D.C. Everest second, Marshfield third, and Wisconsin Rapids fourth.

After the completion of the conference tournament, Marshfield will compete at the WIAA Division 1 regional at Stevens Point Country Club on Sept. 27. The top four teams and top four individuals not on those teams move on to the Division 1 sectional at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids on Oct. 2.

Then the top two teams and top three individuals not on those teams qualify for the 2017 WIAA State Girls Golf Tournament at University Ridge Golf Club in Verona on Oct. 9-10.
