WAUSAU — The Marshfield boys soccer team dropped its fourth-straight game, falling 5-2 at Wausau West on Tuesday.

The Tigers are now 3-7 overall and 1-5 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. West improves 7-1-1 overall and 5-1 in the WVC.

Barni Shiferaw scored the first of his three goals in the seventh minute for West before Marshfield quickly tied it on a penalty kick from Isaac Wellens at the 11:45 mark.

West ripped off two more goals before halftime and went up 4-1 on Shiferaw’s third goal just 2:33 into the second half.

Evan Weister had Marshfield’s second score in the 72nd minute, but it was not nearly enough as the Tigers lost their third Valley game in a row.

Tommy Olson had six saves in goal for Marshfield.

The Tigers return to action Saturday at the Wausau East Invitational.
