Marshfield volleyball goes 1-1 at first WVC meet

Tigers now 2-3 in Valley

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Marshfield volleyball team went 1-1 at the first Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet of the season Saturday at Lincoln High School.

Marshfield defeated Wisconsin Rapids 26-24, 26-24, 25-23 and lost to Wausau West 25-20, 25-23, 13-25, 25-17 to move to 2-3 in WVC action this fall.

Karly Nikolai had 22 kills, Corianne Johnson had 78 assists, and Lindsey Steffen had 38 digs to lead the Tigers in each category.

Hannah Meverden added 20 kills, Steffen had 19 kills and four service aces, Jordyn Wilcott had 31 digs and five aces, and Johanna Beyer had eight block kills for Marshfield.

Marshfield plays at D.C. Everest on Thursday.
