Marshfield girls tennis drops WVC opener to Merrill

Tigers win three singles matches

MARSHFIELD — The Marshfield girls tennis team dropped its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet opener at home against Merrill on Tuesday, falling 4-3.

Marshfield’s victories all came in singles. Ashley Schultz won at No. 1 6-0, 6-0; Dara Stichert survived at No. 2 6-1, 2-6, 6-3; and Jebina Devadas rolled at No. 4 6-0, 6-1.

Marshfield plays at D.C. Everest on Thursday.
