Joseph I.“Joe” Burr Jr, age 91 died on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Bethel Center, Arpin.  A service celebrating his life will take place at Corpus Christi Parish (Bakerville) 10075 Hwy BB, Marshfield, on Saturday, September 16th at 12:30 pm with visitation beginning at 11:30 am. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Joe was born on February 23, 1926 to Joseph H. and Anna (Huene) Burr.  He married Geroleen Heeg on February 7, 1948. Joe’s work ethic began at a young age on the family farm in Hewitt.  He later worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory, LL Felker working on furnace parts and at the Bulk Plant.  He was the service manager at Baltus Oil Company for 36 years, retiring in 1998.  After Joe’s retirement, he helped his son Bob on his farm for another 12 years, coming full circle back to his roots.

Joe is survived by his wife Jerry and 12 children Larry (Darlene), Gordy (Mary Jane), Jeanne Denk (Merlin), Sandy Wolf (Ron), Shirlee Beisel, Lin Valle (Dave), Mike (Sandy), Bob (Barbara), Pat, Russ (Shelby), Blu (Vickie), Peggy Hoeksema (Ray), 32 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren. Life was always exciting with that many children/grandchildren/greatgrandchildren.  Joe especially enjoyed meeting all the new babies that will carry on the Burr Dynasty.

Joe was a die-hard Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers fan and always kept their schedule in his room so he wouldn’t miss a game.  He also enjoyed bowling, fishing and reading.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers and sisters. He was welcomed into heaven by daughter-in-law Crystal, grandson Nicholas and great grandson Gabriel.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to the staff at Bethel where he lived for the past 3 years, especially Tanya, Jody and Sarah.

Joe was the backbone of the Burr family and his death leaves a hole in our hearts that can never be replaced.  We will miss him forever.

Memorials can be designated to Bethel Activity Fund.

Condolences may be sent online to www.rembsfh.com
