CUSTER — A number of Marshfield residents contacted the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA), partners in the Solar Central Wisconsin group buy program, following the Hub City Times article “Group solar program surpasses second goal,” and the MREA has decided to host one final Solar Power Hour information session in Marshfield.

The free session will be Sept. 11 from 6-7 p.m. at the Blue Heron BrewPub, 108 W. Ninth St. in Marshfield.

The Solar Central Wisconsin program has already surpassed its first two goals, guaranteeing an average rebate of $636 per participant. The program has currently contracted 120 kW of clean solar energy to be installed on homes and businesses in central Wisconsin.

The next benchmark is set at 150 kW. If Solar Central Wisconsin reaches that goal before the deadline of Sept. 30, the rebate will grow to $750.

Solar Central Wisconsin, a partnership between Mid-State Technical College, the city of Stevens Point, the city of Wisconsin Rapids, and the MREA, helps Wisconsin home and business owners take advantage of lowered prices for solar energy systems.
