Spencer volleyball squeaks past Gilman in conference opener

Baehr leads Rockets with 16 kills, 28 digs

GILMAN — The Spencer volleyball team pulled out a gutty 3-2 win over Gilman in its Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener Thursday night at Gilman High School.
The Rockets won 25-16, 13-25, 25-27, 25-19, 15-13.
Lexi Baehr had 16 kills and 28 digs, and Sadie Mercier had 32 assists and 22 digs to lead Spencer.
“We were up and down all night,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “When we passed, we looked great. It was a good way to start conference play.”
Spencer will participate in the Auburndale Invitational on Saturday.
