Martin J. Fekete, 50, Tomah, died on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Tomah VA Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 11, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church, Vesper. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 520 of Vesper. The visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville and from 10:00 am until service time on Monday at St. James Catholic Church, Vesper.

Martin was born on February 27, 1967 in Wisconsin Rapids, to James and Eva (Peterson) Fekete. After his education, in June of 1985, he enlisted in the Army National Guard. He served for 20 years and had obtained the rank of sergeant at the time of his honorable discharge. He then became employed at the Tomah VA, where he worked until retirement due to his illness and he became a resident there.

Marty was a member of the American Legion Post 520 of Vesper and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1382 of Tomah. He was a Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan.

He is survived by his daughter, Hope and a brother, Emery (Alberta) Fekete and sisters, Dorothy (Marv) Goldberg, Theresa (Hubert) Malsin and Linda (Ray) Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol.
