Marshfield freshman football opens season with shut out win

Adams rushes for two scores for Tigers

WAUSAU — The Marshfield freshman football team opened its season with a 20-0 victory over Wausau East on Thursday at East High School.
Will Nikolai had nine carries for 112 yards and a touchdown, and Alec Adams rushed for 62 yards and two more touchdowns for the Tigers.
Seth Peterson kicked two extra points, and Michael Wright, Kavin Beranek, and Ky Swanson led Marshfield in tackles.
Marshfield’s next game is at D.C. Everest on Sept. 7.
