MARSHFIELD — A Spencer man was in the Wood County Jail after leading Marshfield police on a chase through part of the city over the weekend.
Kurt Fehrenbach, 43, was arrested on charges of operating while under the influence and fleeing an officer, which is a felony.
According to Marshfield police, officers were led on a pursuit when attempts to stop Fehrenbach were initially unsuccessful shortly after midnight on Aug. 27. The pursuit went for 2½ miles and lasted seven minutes.
Police said they chased Fehrenbach through parts of the city’s southeast side, starting at Arnold Street and Peach Avenue, traveling east on Blodgett Street, north on Anton Avenue, east on Fillmore Street, and eventually ending around Becker Road and Hume Avenue near the Marshfield High School tennis courts, where Fehrenbach drove off the road.
There was minimal property damage, and no injuries were reported.
