MARSHFIELD — Organizers of the 2017 Parish Pull, which was held at the Central Wisconsin State Fairgrounds and sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, recently donated $20,000 to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization that provides shelter, clothing, food, medical services, and other emergency assistance to those in need without regard to their religious beliefs.

The first $10,000 of the donation will go to the Frederic Ozanam Family Shelter, and the other $10,000 will go toward needed equipment for the St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Center and to provide emergency assistance for the victims of catastrophes such as tornados, floods, or fires.

The Frederic Ozanam Family Shelter houses families from the community. Its goal is to move families from homelessness to attain consistent income and permanent housing.

The shelter is always in need of monetary donations, and a wish list for item donations is located on the “Marshfield Family Shelter” Facebook page or available by calling 715-384-6555. Those wishing to donate to the shelter can mail checks to or drop them off at 505 E. Depot St., Marshfield, WI 54449.
