MARSHFIELD — Sen. Ron Johnson was in Marshfield Aug. 14 as part of a statewide tour and on invitation by Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry Executive Director Scott Larson.
While in Marshfield, Johnson held a roundtable discussion at AgCountry Farm Credit Services.
“We had an hour of his time to get an update on federal policy,” said Marshfield Insurance’s Nick Arnoldy, who attended the event. “Topics we spoke about included health reform, taxes, and education.
“We had a lot to say, and he brought us up to speed as to what he thought was going to happen on all topics and how Washington unfortunately does not always follow through with their promises and is not very swift at fixing issues, but he is doing his best to uphold his part.
“Sen. Johnson said that he was not giving up the fight as far as tax reform and health care.”
In addition to Marshfield Insurance, other businesses represented at the roundtable included Burns Insurance, Nasonville Dairy, Simplicity Credit Union, Felker Brothers, Security Health Plan, Marshfield Clinic Health System, and Pioneer Bank.
