MARSHFIELD — During its annual Ballet in the Park presentation, the Main Street Conservatory of Dance bid farewell to longtime dance instructor Tricia Marion.
“She has been teaching dance in Marshfield for 31 years: 12 years as owner of Tricia’s Academy of Dance, then 19 years with Main Street Conservatory of Dance,” explained Heather Conrad, who took over the dance academy from Marion.
“Tricia — Mrs. Tricia to her students — has nurtured, educated, and inspired thousands of young Marshfield area dancers over the past 31 years. To many she has been a second mom, a moral compass, a caring teacher, someone who expected much from her students because she believed in them. I know her legacy will live on in this community for many years to come because she has instilled great passion for the art of dance in so many of us,” Conrad said.
Marion will be relocating to Nashville, Tennessee.
This year’s Ballet in the Park featured students from the Conservatory’s Classical Ballet Program Summer Intensive as well as members of the Marshfield Youth Ballet Company.
