Sunday, Aug. 6

Marshfield men warned for harassment

At 10:57 p.m. two Marshfield women reported that they had received harassing Facebook messages and phone calls from a 26-year-old Marshfield man and a 24-year-old Marshfield man. The men also went to the women’s houses in an attempt to collect a perceived debt owed to them.

Police warned the men to not go to the women’s residences and to not contact the women.

Monday, Aug. 7

Man arrested for disorderly conduct, bail jumping

Police arrested a 41-year-old Marshfield man for disorderly conduct and four counts of misdemeanor bail jumping following an investigation of a domestic disturbance on the 2300 block of E. Hintz St. at 8:09 p.m. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and signed the conditional release contact prohibition agreement form, but he was unable to post the $4,150 bond and was then taken to Wood County Jail.

The victim did not sign the waiver of domestic abuse contact prohibition form. A request for charges will be sent to the Wood County district attorney’s office.

Marshfield man taken into custody for probation hold

Police took a 22-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 400 block of E. 18th St. after he was placed on a probation hold. The man was taken to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and then to Wood County Jail.

Wednesday, Aug. 9

Owen man with warrant taken into custody

Police arrested a 19-year-old Owen man on the 600 block of St Joseph Ave. for a valid Clark County warrant. He was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to the Clark County line, where he was turned over to a Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

Thursday, Aug. 10

Man arrested for probation violation

At 3:28 p.m. police arrested a 22-year-old Marshfield man at the Probation and Parole office for a probation violation. He was transported to the Marshfield Medical Center for medical clearance and then to Wood County Jail.

Friday, Aug. 11

Police perform two warrant pickups

Following a traffic stop, police arrested a 23-year-old woman for a valid Marshfield warrant. She was booked at the Marshfield Police Department and then transported to Wood County Jail after she was not able to post bond.

At 2:48 a.m. a 20-year-old Marshfield man was taken into custody on a Clark County warrant following a traffic stop on the 200 block of S. State Ave. The man was transported to the Clark County line and turned over to a deputy.

Missing 19-year-old located

Police responded at 3:12 p.m. to a report of a missing 19-year-old Marshfield man with cognitive disabilities. Officers canvassed the area and locations where the man may have gone. The man was eventually found on the 900 block of N. Peach Ave.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Office assisted in getting a Project Lifesaver band for the man. No further action was taken.

Fillmore Street mailbox post damaged

Police received a report at 5:41 p.m. of a vehicle striking a mailbox post on the 1700 block of E. Fillmore St. and then leaving the area. Judging by the tire marks left in the grass, police suspected the striking vehicle would have damage to its passenger front corner area.

Police spoke with neighbors, and there were no eyewitnesses of the incident. There are no suspects at this time, and a damage estimate is pending.

Marshfield man jailed for probation violation

Police took a 25-year-old Marshfield man into custody on the 300 block of N. Central Ave. for a probation violation. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking and was then brought to Wood County Jail.

Saturday, Aug. 12

Vehicle window reported broken on 19th Street

A Marshfield man reported that the driver’s side backdoor window on his vehicle was broken some time between 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 11 and 9:17 a.m. on Aug. 12 while the vehicle was parked on the 400 block of E. 19th St.

The man thought the damage may have been caused by a lawn mower while mowing city property to the east of where the vehicle was. Police spoke to the man in charge of mowing the property, who said his crew finished mowing the lot before the vehicle was parked there.

The man had no other suspects. Police could not locate anything that would have broken the window.

Man arrested for THC, drug paraphernalia possession

Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of East 14th Street and South Ash Avenue at 7:03 p.m. A 34-year-old Marshfield man was subsequently arrested for possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges will be requested through the Wood County DA’s office.

DNA sample taken from woman with warrant

While making contact with a 21-year-old Marshfield woman regarding a civil dispute on the 1600 block of N. Fig Ave. at 10:16 p.m., police found out the woman had an active Wood County warrant for failure to provide a DNA sample.

The woman was taken into custody and brought to the Marshfield Police Department, where a DNA sample was collected. The woman was then released, and the DNA sample packet was mailed. No further action was taken.

Sunday, Aug. 13

Lawn ornament reported stolen

A Marshfield woman reported that a cactus lawn ornament was taken from her lawn on the 1200 block of E. Doege St. some time between Aug. 9 and Aug. 12. The woman did not have a suspect.

Wausau woman reports Play-Doh put into her vehicle’s gas tank

A Wausau woman reported that around 4 a.m. an unidentified individual put Play-Doh into her vehicle’s gas tank while it was on the 2000 block of N. Central Ave. Video surveillance was checked, and the incident was not caught on camera.

The woman wanted the incident placed on file in case it happens again. There are no suspects.

Man taken into custody for domestic battery, child abuse

At 7:47 p.m. police took a 36-year-old man into custody for domestic battery and child abuse on the 800 block of Western St. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and later to Wood County Jail. Charges will be forwarded to the Wood County DA.

Vehicle strikes mailbox on 25th Street

A Marshfield woman contacted police at 8:29 p.m. and reported that a vehicle struck her mailbox on the 600 block of E. 25th St. There are no suspects.

Man arrested on probation hold

Police arrested a man on the 1600 block of N. Central Ave. for a probation hold. He was brought to the Marshfield Police Department, booked, and then transported to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office jail.

Monday, Aug. 14

Vesper man with warrant taken into custody

Police conducted a traffic stop on the 800 block of Oak Ave. and took a 58-year-old Vesper man into custody for an active Clark County warrant. The man was transported to the Marshfield Police Department for booking procedures and was later released after posting bond.
