WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Officers were called to an East Fillmore Street residence on July 4 after a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend, 26-year-old Marshfield man William A. Heron, had given her black eyes the previous evening.
According to the criminal complaint, the woman stated that she had been at Heron’s apartment “drinking and talking” when an argument escalated into a physical altercation when the woman tried to leave.
During the altercation, the woman was knocked to the floor. When the woman tried swinging at Heron to get him to get off of her, he head-butted her. During the scuffle, the woman said that her phone and keys came loose, which were taken by the defendant so she could not leave.
According to court records, Heron admitted to a physical altercation but said that he did not want her to leave due to her “intoxicated state.”
Heron faces domestic abuse charges of false imprisonment, a class F felony that comes with $10,000 in fines and/or six years imprisonment, and battery, a class A misdemeanor that could result in a $10,000 fine and/or nine months imprisonment.
