Sandra M. Wenzel, 79, Sayner, died peacefully at home on Monday, August 7, 2017.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, August 11, 2017 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 am on Friday until service time. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Sandra was born on October 29, 1937 in Arpin, Wisconsin to Clarence “Connie” and Lucille (Grimm) Loken. She was a 1956 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. She was united in marriage to John R. Wenzel on July 27, 1957 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Sandy had been employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. She also provided home health care for many years. She and her husband resided in Marshfield until 2000 and then moved to Sayner. It was there that Sandy loved to paint wildlife and spend time by the pond. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, tending her flowers and playing angry birds.

She is survived by her husband, John and their children, Kris (Tim) Herr, David A. (Debbie) Wenzel and John P. (Sue) Wenzel, and a daughter-in- law, Julie Wenzel, all of Marshfield. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jenny Johnson, Teresa Ross, April Hopkins, Nathan Wenzel, Jim Wenzel, Jeremy Wenzel, John Wenzel, Jenny Holt and Jordan Wenzel. She is further survived by a cousin, Joan (Dell) Greunke.

She was predeceased by her parents and a son, Mark on August 7, 2014. The family will designate a memorial at a later date.
