MARSHFIELD — Marshfield Clinic Center for Community Outreach and Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth invite students from Marshfield public and private schools entering grades nine through 12 to attend the 2017 Youth Initiatives Retreat, which will be 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 31 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 502 W. McMillan St. in Marshfield.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in a tour of the city to learn more about programs that focus on alcohol and other drug abuse. The tour includes stops at the Frederic Ozanam Transitional Shelter, Marshfield Fire Department, Marshfield Medical Center emergency room, and Marshfield Police Department. Participants also will learn about current drug trends, the police K-9 program, naloxone, underage drinking, and other community programs aiming to reduce substance abuse.

This event is free to attend, and lunch is provided. To attend or see the schedule, contact Kayleigh Mengel at mengel.kayleigh@marshfieldclinic.org, call 715-221-8423, or text 715-383-4221 by July 26.
