MARSHFIELD – Police continue to search for a missing Marshfield woman. 46-year-old Anna Ineichen was last seen in Marshfield on June 22. Ineichen’s Black Ford Escape was located near Highway 54 west of the Lake Dexter Dam on Friday. Her sister, Marie Zoellner, Merrill says Ineichen left her Marshfield home without her cell phone or her medication.

“She was on medication, and she did go out there in the middle of the night, and I am thinking that if she was not in the right frame of mind somebody could have just as easily given her a ride and we don’t know where she ended up…and then when the police found the car they towed it away, because it is kind of…in a spot where it could be hit by oncoming traffic,” said Zoellner.

“They said the car was locked up and her purse was in the car, but she and the car keys are missing and I am thinking that she could have just as easily have gotten picked up or hitched a ride with somebody.”

Zoellner was not aware of any problems at home, but says her sister may have had a reason for not going back.

“I guess the only thing, that my husband mentioned, is if she left the house for some reason I don’t where she would go,” Zoellner added. “I don’t know if there would be a reason why she wouldn’t want to go back there or not – that she wouldn’t tell people where she was from – that doesn’t make any sense either.

“Obviously something upset her to make her leave at 2 in the morning.”

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department continues to search the waters around the Dexterville Dam, but Zoellner says those search efforts should be expanded.

“I mean they had dogs out there, they had helicopters, they had drones – there is a lot of effort being put into that water, and I am thinking that maybe some of our efforts need to be put elsewhere,” Zoellner stated.

Police say that Ineichen is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds, and has brown hair and green eyes. She is originally from Gleason, and is the second-youngest of eight siblings. She has a sister in Colby and another in Texas—who is coming to Wisconsin to assist in search efforts. Ineichen also has two sons, and Zoellner says she’s had jobs off and on.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Marshfield Police Department at 715-387-4394.
