Ten years ago
Lynn Andreske received a 4 Award for being top sales person in her division as an independent adviser for Lia Sophia Jewelry and was promoted to unit manager. She also received national recognition for her efforts with the company.
Twenty-five years ago
Recently awarded first and second place in the area Delta Kappa Gamma creative writing contest were two third-grade students from Washington Elementary School. Respectively, the first and second place awards went to Emily Haselby, daughter of Ray and Connie Haselby, and Alison Doak, daughter of Wesley and Joan Doak, all of Marshfield.
Fifty years ago
Jerry Nikolai of Marshfield was the winner in the semi-feature race Saturday night at Rangeline Speedway. Tom Loos of Loyal won the feature, followed by Dick Bushman of Marshfield and Dan Duellman of Dorchester.
Seventy-five years ago
The scrap rubber drive was underway, and Hub City Oil Co. employees Neil Tollefson and Wilbur Cohler had collected more than two tons of material at the company’s outlets. Marshfield distributors reported that patriotic citizens had donated a total of 17 tons for the drive in a few days.
