Ten years ago
Dale Leffel, manager at the Belvedere Supper Club, was recently elected chairman of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. Holding the position for one year, Leffel would be an advocate and write a monthly column for the association.
Twenty-five years ago
St. Mary’s College in Winona, Minnesota, announced the students named to the dean’s list for the spring semester for the 1991-1992 academic year. Included on the list was junior Joseph McCormick, son of James and Patti McCormick.
Fifty years ago
In conjunction with the weekly concert by the Marshfield Civic Band at Columbia Park, the annual Elks Flag Day observance was to be held. Chairman of the Flag Day committee Robert Uthmeier announced that Exalted Ruler Robert Radtke would be master of ceremonies.
Seventy-five years ago
At a regular meeting of the Marshfield Junior Chamber of Commerce, an agreement was met to work along with the US Navy in sponsoring a Naval Aviation Cadets recruiting program in central Wisconsin. Representatives appointed from the Jaycees were Leo Van Ert, Fred Rhyner, William Roddis, Steve Hopkins, and Lyle Tuchscher.
