For Hub City Times

MARSHFIELD — Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational class designed to help caregivers take care of themselves. A caregiver is anyone who helps someone with medications; attends doctor appointments with another person; assists with grocery shopping, laundry, or other household chores; or provides care for someone in a home.

Class participants will learn to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, increase their ability to make tough decisions, and locate helpful resources.

The six-week interactive class meets on Thursdays from June 22 – July 27 from 1-2:45 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 205 E. Third St. in Marshfield. A contribution of $10 is suggested, and a free Caregiver Helpbook will be included. To register, call Erin Johnson at the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin at 1-888-486-9545.
