MARSHFIELD – A 27-year-old Marshfield woman was charged with first-degree reckless homicide, for the January 31 death of Thomas Bychinski.

According to the criminal complaint, Cassandra Staab supplied the fentanyl-laced heroin that led to the death of the 22-year-old Spencer man.

The complaint chronicles how three acquaintances obtained heroin laced with furanyl fentanyl and acryl fentanyl.

Records state that after Bychinski’s body found, one witness told investigators that Bychinski used heroin and that he often obtained it from Staab. The witness also told police that he had purchased heroin from Staab on January 30 and used some with Bychinski. He claimed that Staab had said that it was “very potent, powerful stuff.”
