Auburndale baseball beats Abbotsford in WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal
Apaches host Spencer in regional final Wednesday

AUBURNDALE — Auburndale got all of the offense it needed in the middle innings and went on to beat Abbotsford 6-2 in a WIAA Division 3 baseball regional semifinal Tuesday at Auburndale High School.
The Apaches scored four times in the third inning and twice in the fourth to take a commanding 6-0 lead, and their pitching did the rest.
Cam Ertl allowed one run in six innings, striking out four, and Colton Wright pitched the seventh and allowed Abbotsford’s final run before closing out the victory.
Auburndale (10-7) will host a Division 3 regional final Wednesday at 4:45 p.m. against Spencer (10-9). Spencer beat Stratford 7-6 on Tuesday. The winner of the regional final moves on to sectionals at Crivitz on Tuesday, June 6.
Cason Schmutzer and Aaron Willfahrt each had two hits and an RBI, and both scored twice for Auburndale. Logan Willfahrt, Colton Wright, and Cooper Weinfurter added RBIs in the victory.
