Robert C. Binzel, 74, Marshfield, died on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 am until service time. Rev. Eric Berns will officiate. Private burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Robert was born on April 22, 1943 in Milwaukee, the son of Rudolph “Rudy” and Mary (Cunningham) Binzel. He attended Our Lady of Peace Parochial School and was in the first First Grade class. He was a 1961 graduate of Columbus High School and then received a Bachelor of Science degree from Regis College in Denver, CO in 1965. After his education, he worked for American Can in Neenah and Wausau. He then returned to the family business Marshfield Canning Company in Marshfield.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, snowmobiling, downhill skiing. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and a member of the Elks Lodge in Marshfield for 42 years.

Bob is survived by 2 sisters, Mary J. (Dennis) Michalski of Marshfield and Carol (Frank) Drasler of Onalaska. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Timothy (Lisa) Drasler of Sarasota, CA, Laura (Dean) Eide of Osseo, Katherine (Mike) Poellinger of Holmen, Lisa (Ryan) Strub of Thornton, CO, Christopher Michalski of Marshfield and Patrick (Ingrid) Michalski of Maple Grove, Minnesota, 7 great nieces and nephews and 2 great great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to Our Lady of Peace Church or to Columbus Catholic High School.
